Ola Desings

I happened upon OlaDesigns Etsy shop as I was searching for some unique art for my home. I was drawn to Ola's work the minute I laid eyes on it. It reminds me somewhat of my own ideas, but she has actually had time to create. . .alas I have not. Perhaps once the living room trim has been painted I can eek out some time to do so.

I hope you enjoy her fabulous work, and take a look at her prints at her Etsy shop.

Collage Art by Laura Breitman

Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.
- Camille Pissarro

Today I uncovered the work of fabric collagist, Laura Breitman. She is a full time studio artist, whose technique is unique and painstaking, to say the least. Her work speaks for itself, and I wish I could see it up close and personal.

"I am committed to expressing how light interacts with form and the task of fooling the eye. Thousands of pieces of fabric are often contained in each work. Attention to detail is my way of capturing viewers, bringing them in closer so that details meld into shapes and color - which is often the case when we contemplate an object. It is this type of meditation and study of individual elements that trigger the kinds of thoughts that sweep through our minds and take us by surprise. My work is meant to inspire these moments."

Full-sized work, entitled, "Looking Up" 38"x42"

Detail from "Looking Up". Note the use of fabric color and pattern.

Laura's technique has been painstakingly developed over the years. To see more of her work,

New Blog

Art is life, and life is art. It's all around us, and we fail to recognize it. This blog is designed to find the beauty everywhere in this life, and make it apparent. Links to other artists websites, my own art, photographs, and other creations will appear here.
